Through this work, we foster meaningful connections

My first grown-up job was bringing high-powered, influential executives together to talk about the future of their industry. It was 2006 and we were all still somewhat in awe of the fact that we could rent DVDs through the mail. But the huge shift that was about to happen in the media industry (aka the release of the first iPhone the following year) was something I experienced through the perspectives of the leaders making the decisions. How did I find my way to this front row seat while still in my twenties? I was the event manager for industry programs at the Paley Center for Media.

There was a lot of skepticism and conversation around how to monetize content on smaller screens and what the on-demand content economy would do to the industry. There was great concern (rightfully so) over what the rise of digital content (mostly free to access) was doing to the newspaper industry and journalism broadly. We are today living with the perks and the pitfalls of this ever-evolving digital landscape. But that’s not the point of this post. The point is that in those early days of my career, before I knew I would go on to start a live event production company, I learned that there is a magic that happens when people get into a room together who are all passionate about a subject, industry, or cause. It’s something I’ve been privileged to experience over and over.

It is literally my business to create spaces to facilitate the exchange of ideas and information. When clients come to us for help with a conference, our pitch to them is: you focus on inviting all the right people; we’ll create an experience for them they will never forget. Our job is to build an effortless and enjoyable setting for doers and thinkers and experts to connect with one another. Through this work, we foster an opportunity for progress.

Having been in the room when so many of these conversations were happening has truly been a highlight of my work life and a great learning experience. My team and I love producing events that are all about change--cultural, technological, and otherwise. We want to be in the room where these important events happen – more so, we want to help you create them.
